Bomblastic Side Eyes

Diwali is just around the corner and I cannot wait for the festivities to begin!

The fairy lights are out, diyas are lined up, and I’m mentally survived the annual cleaning drive - you know, the one that starts as “let’s just dust a little” and ends with your mother questioning your entire existence.

The streets are glowing, the snack jars are full, and even WhatsApp family groups are… lively again!! Somewhere between sugar rushes and small talk, Diwali reminds me that chaos can be oddly comforting.

I’m not the full-on firecracker type though, more like a quiet sparkle that shows up, stays awhile, and sneaks extra Kaju katli when no one’s watching.

My idea of celebrating? Some fairy lights, a bit of silence, and people who don’t drain my battery faster than a phone on 2% brightness.

Still, there’s something about this season that hits right, the laughter, the glow, the occasional bombastic side eyes at that one relative asking too many questions. (Yes aunty, I’m still single. No aunty, I don’t need your nephew’s number.)

But beyond the lights and the banter, I love that Diwali always brings a reset.

A chance to brighten up what’s dull, clear out what’s heavy, and remind myself that shining doesn’t always mean being loud. Sometimes it’s just about staying soft, steady, and you.

So here’s to bright homes, good snacks, and keeping the sparkle alive on your face and in your mood.

Until next time Happy Diwali & Be a fire cracker!!

Love and Kisses
