Are Women too Ethical?

Did you know that women are less likely to act on unethical behaviour?

Not too long ago, someone pointed out that companies often choose men for key responsibilities because they can “keep subordinates in check”, while acting like total jackasses themselves! No, no, I’m not talking about your manager. It’s a fact! Harvard Law School clearly indicates men are more prone to unethical behaviour.

That would explain so many things, wouldn’t it? Why women are judged more strictly than men. Why it’s always a mother’s responsibility to give good teachings. Why there are more male CEOs than female. Why it’s always the wife’s responsibility to save the marriage.

The answer is simple: because a woman’s moral compass is always in her hand.

Okie, if I’m wrong, tell me, when was the last time you did something wrong and the guilt ate you alive? Have you ever felt like you were cheating on your ex just by talking or even lightly flirting with someone new? No, I’m not talking about stealing shampoo and conditioner bottles from hotel rooms. I mean guilt-tripping acts.

You know, I can’t even throw garbage anywhere without thinking twice, because I still believe in what I was taught in school. And as a Convent girl, I really took it to heart. I have to remind myself every time I’m polite to a colleague who’s a jerk that I should just be a basic bitch with him. Being “bad” doesn’t come naturally to many of us, not when someone hasn’t harmed us first.

A boy wouldn’t mind having an affair with a married woman as long as he’s getting what he wants on time. His friends would support him, maybe even join the fun if given a chance. It’s not the same with girls. Girls immediately start playing moral guardian for others, even when that’s not their job!

Women are empathetic, men are selfish. Women are emotional, men are calculative. Women aren’t always practical, and men know when to detach themselves from unwanted situations. Again, this is generalization, not personalization.

The Harvard study says 25 out of 100 men wouldn’t mind acting immorally, while only 11 out of 100 women would act corruptly. That means for every bad woman, there are two bad men. My question is: who are these 11 women, and can they teach me how to be a badass?

The only true “bad bitch” I’ve ever known in essence is Jeffrey Epstein’s ex-girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell. She stood by his child trafficking and paedophilia even after their break-up. Now, that woman didn’t have a heart, and I can say that!

But that’s exactly the point. Society doesn’t teach women to be bad. It teaches us to stay inside the moral line, even when the world rewards those who cross it. In fact, we have Lady Justice as a statue, not a man!

All I’m trying to say is: the world celebrates madness, possession, power play, dominance. But maybe that’s where women can flip the script. If the world celebrates power, why can’t we celebrate integrity? If the world rewards dominance, why can’t we reward empathy? Maybe the next revolution won’t come from women learning to be bad, but from women refusing to apologize for being good and still taking the throne.

I truly believe the world needs more female leadership, not because women are great at management, decision-making, or domination, but because what the world needs right now is empathy.
